Microsoft is readying a new low-cost version of Windows Server to
give customers a server OS similar to client OSes that run on low-cost
PCs. Microsoft plans to release "something akin to" a netbook
version of Windows, but for servers, not PCs, over the next month or
two, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said on a call with members of the
financial community on Tuesday. He said that although there is
not high demand at the moment for netbook-like server hardware,
declining prices in the server market make a low-cost OS an attractive
option for customers. "We don't exactly have a netbook
phenomenon, but if somebody can buy a [US]$500 server, they're a little
loathe to spend $500 for the server operating system that goes with
it," Ballmer said. He described the software as a "low-cost,
low-price, low-functionality Windows Server SKU" called "Foundation
Edition," but did not offer more details. Or you can by IBM/LOTUS "Foundations" server thats a "low-cost, low-price, HIGH-functionality non-Windows server" for less. sheesh

So it seems, that on the possible eve of Nathan 2.0 I have this small sliver of news to deliver..Apparently Microsoft Excel has again failed, only this time for Microsoft itself, as well as its recently ex - employees. Apparently " mis calculations" of overpayments for benefits for recently laid off people now need to be paid back. Stimulus, or not. BWAHAHAHAHHAAAA link to copy of MS letter -> http://www.scribd.com/doc/12722387/msletter have a nice day. OH AND COUNT THE FONT TYPE> even with a dollar sign and two decimal places and a point...they aint't small numbers :) Bet it shows up on their 1099's next year also thanks to great plains.

ok, so its been a while, but i have an important message. Attending LoLA - Lotus Leadership Alliance conference is turning out to be a very pleasurable experience. Seeing all the usual friends, John D, Tim K, Scott G, Mary B R, and many others and having candid, open discussions is excellent. But meeting new friends such as Katherine H, John W, and Bob Picciano has exceeded my expectations. Bob in particular turns out to be a very intelligent, well informed and passionate individual. Ive spent more quality time with him over the last 2 days than i have EVER even seen past Lotus GM's. Bob is the perfect Leader for everything yellow and I look forward to the years ahead!

For your approval....
If there is any question how hard the Bracco's have been working over the last couple of years towards furthering the BleedYellow goals common to most of us, I submit the following whilst searching for grub this evening:

Check that date and it tells you it expired on October 19th, 2004! That means this shit is over 6 years old at least!
(FYI the house we are in is only four years old..for what its worth)
Let me tell you, it makes me step back and ponder how much time I'm actually spending nurturing this yellow nest egg and not paying attention to the world around me.
Please feel free to attach your own pictures, as Im sure I'm not the only one out ther with some refrigerator specialties...

So in classic fashion, Microsoft is starting to give money to people who use their search engine... This is nothing new to us Yellow Bleeders. Microsoft for years has been giving "rebate" checks to companies to switch from Domino To Exchange (of which I actually have copies of) oh ya before they actually sign on the dotted line, NOT AFTER. Of course , when your products ULTIMATELY SUCK HAIRY MOOSECOCK, you got to do what you can. And boy do people love free money. Especially unintelligent ones. Some web pundits are proclaiming what MS is doing is exactly like what Google is doing to them with Google Docs - But they would be wrong, of course. Google does not pay people to use their products WHICH DO NOT SUCK THE AFORE MENTIONED, they just give them away (to some extent). And since search is already free, well what can MS do - certainly not compete! This robinhoodism bullshit needs to stop. I personally refuse to use credit cards that offer "cash back" that essentially rob store owners of their profits, only to act high and mighty and giving a measly 1 percent to the end user. why not just charge store owners 50% rates to take Visa and give away 40% to the end user? Im sure Ayn Rand has the answer to that. Think about it, if the average markup on a PC is 5%, and you pay with an Amex card (which is the only card i pretty much use because it HAS to be paid off each month) most merchants actually LOSE 1%. and you wonder why you get treated like crap in a circuit city (which is bankrupt, btw) oh well, if you cant beat 'em pay em...it can actually get you elected president!

There are some bleeps to protect the not so innocent , but its chock full of information about Exchange 5.4 and 2007. We all better find new jobs. http://www.bleedyellow.com/lotus911/exchange_cold_call.wav

Since last spring, the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on
Oversight and Government Reform has been investigating reports that an
estimated 5 million email messages from 473 days between 2003 and 2005
allegedly vanished from e-mail servers housed within the president's
office. White House has said it has since reduced the number of days' worth
of missing e-mails from 473 to 202 after discovering that those
messages had been filed "in the wrong digital drawer" as part of a
switch from the Lotus Notes to Microsoft Exchange e-mail system in
2002.
White House Chief Information Officer Theresa Payton assured the
committee that her office is working actively on a multi-step
restoration process. When pressed by Davis, Payton also said she felt "very comfortable"
that they would be able to reconstruct any remaining lost documents
from "disaster recovery backup tapes," although she said that process
would be time-consuming and could cost at least $15 million.
$15 Million? WTF? guess who pays for this? When are we going to put a stop to the madness! JB
The problems for the Bush administration apparently started soon after
the White House decided to shift its e-mail system from Lotus Notes to
Microsoft Exchange in 2002. It also replaced the automated records
storage system devised by the Clinton administration with a system that
one of its own experts described as "primitive".
Like we didn't see this coming
