EVIL Empire is talking of very limited attacks.... yeah sure....
Microsoft is investigating new public reports of very limited, targeted attacks using a vulnerability in the Microsoft Jet Database Engine that can be exploited through Microsoft Word.

MS is investigating and take appropriate action (i wonder how much that would be) :-)

Microsoft is investigating the public reports and customer impact. We are also investigating whether the vulnerability can be exploited through additional applications. Upon completion of this investigation, Microsoft will take the appropriate action to help protect our customers. This may include providing a security update through our monthly release process or providing an out-of-cycle security update, depending on customer needs.

And the scenario is sooooooo very seldom an limited... hmmmmm i guess it would be worth some studies on what the definition on limited is.....

In a Web-based attack scenario, an attacker would have to host a Web site that contains a specially crafted Word file that is used to attempt to exploit this vulnerability. In addition, compromised Web sites and Web sites that accept or host user-provided content could contain specially crafted content that could exploit this vulnerability. An attacker would have no way to force users to visit these Web sites. Instead, an attacker would have to persuade users to visit the Web site, typically by getting them to click a link in an e-mail message or Instant Messenger message that takes users to the attacker's site.

SAP on Atlantic and Microsoft on Windows mobile an...

SAP was a total disater not evan a flop it was totalaly blockheaded.....
There was no man alive on the big SAP booth knowing what Atlantic was??????

Atlantic here is what SAP's CTO said

Vishal Sikka, SAP's chief technology officer, said in a statement that the joint product "is a great example of how SAP enables our customers to empower their users by providing easy access to SAP business processes and data through productivity tools and user interfaces of their choice. Furthermore, it reaffirms the strong commitment we have to our partnership with IBM."

Well at least they had heared that name before.
So while the time with SAP was a total lost I went on to the Windows mobile booth which was right across and i thought i might get some good INFOS there.

OK all you naughty little beggars out there...... It was lost time.
I asked for possible synergie effects using travelar on mobile devices running Windows mobile! I shouldnt have done that.
All of a sudden i had two sales guys trying to sell me Windows mobile and mobile Outlook. Sigh i dont like microssoft and i hate outlook. So finaly i just told them of and rejected the give aways they where trying to persuade me to take!

CEBIT 2008 in Hannover, Part tooo

 Arival at the CEBIT 2008

After having a bad start at the "Bahnhof" in Würzburg the rest of the journey was ok.
So i started my fare by visiting an IBM BP BCC.
  1. There i was getting tanked with clientgenie... or whatever they call it nowadays. But to be honest it did leave some good impressions. It looks like they are able to distribute eclipse plugins on an automated base using an agent. Well it sounds simple to start with, but if you think about it......If you want to distribute sidebarapps to your clients you do need to get the updatesite to the client and have to have user interaction..Normaly no problem but what do you do with your dau's (dümmster anzunehmender user= the most stupid user on earth :-) which i am sure you find everywhere. The aim we have is distrubution without userinteraction. So we will see those peopel again next week on our site. >>If there is interest i will continue on this toppic once we are a bit further<

  2. Gedys Intraware the next on the list.. As we are thinking of moving away from self developped apps and using standard software
I was peeking at the shedule and service module at the gedys booth. The sheduler application looks cool... ok it is no web2.0 thingy but i think it certanly got some need features. The service and ticketing module does look overweighted. They say though that it is higly configurable and you can downgrade all forms and views...>>we are looking for simplicity not overweighted application no on needs<<
Again if there is interest in how it turned out comment it or email me at bleedyellow >>at googlemail dot com<<

  3. RIM was some sort of good coffe an not to much substancial information. I was looking for statements on traveler no comment on that. Quote "what is traveler"

  4. more to come...... IBM on all new topics, SAP on Atlantic and Micros(uck)oft on mobile devices
