This is my first blog post on BleedYellow.
Short intro: Been a LN developer in the Netherlands for about 9 years now, started with 4.5. Always interested in the latest features and possibilities, but alas too little time to explore it all and blog about it as well.
I am anxiously awaiting the Notes 8.5.1 update, mainly for the improved LS and Java editors in the DDE. I could of course have registered for (and installed) the managed beta, but I reckoned it would not be wise to install it over my 8.5 production version, since I use this for customers as well. I know.. I could install a VM and play around with that, but as I said... too little free play time.
But back on topic:
Reading about Mary Beth Raven's IAMLUG presentation "What's new in Notes 8.5.1", got me so curious that I could not wait another week for the slideds to be published and so tried a Google search once more and voila! The infocenter of Lotus Notes was updated for the 8.5.1 release. As I said before I am mostly interested in the DDE, but nice to read about the client updates.
I am really pleased to see read that the Widget and Live Text wizards are redesigned and have extra features. Especially the option to wire an an action to live text that opens a document by key in a view, is a feature I was waiting for. I feel this is something that can be used at any customer. Also the abiltiy to add a search to the search plugin through a widget is most valuable.
Lotus Knows phrase on the live text feature.. hmm..:
