Small, Medium and WTF!

I understand Notes 8.5 is still Beta.  I understand that there are some things that take some effort to get right.  I appreciate the amount of effort going into the 8.5 codestream,  with getting things right with the Eclipse Designer client and all.  But sometimes it seems to be the simplest of things that appear on the surface to require so little effort, yet just can't seem to be done right.

My case in point...
imageNotes 6.x and
7.x
imageNotes 8.0.1 and
8.5 B2 small

large icons

I think the pictures speak for themselves.  Am I the only one who thinks it can't be that hard to design some nice looking graphical icons rather than the over pixellated versions we see here?

NB...these are all actual size screengrabs.
