In each of the past few years
Rob Novak has offered Lotusphere attendees the opportunity to play Lotusphere Keynote Bingo. I thought it might be interesting to add to the fun of Lotusphere by offering another unofficial activity to the Lotusphere agenda - Lotusphere Spotto.
.
To Play
- You must first print your LotusSphere Spotto Card.
- Then, of course, you must beg, borrow, or steal a path to Lotusphere (Sorry, this game cannot be played remotely).
- During the course Lotusphere you score one point for each of the 24 personalities that you spot.
- The points awarded are boosted to three points if you introduce yourself and shake hands and/or engage in a conversation.
- A total of five points are awarded if you come away with an autograph.
- Maximum points (ten) are awarded if you get the chance to share a drink (Note: I understand Beer is considered the "official" drink of Lotusphere).
.
Prizes - Prizes will be awarded to the attendees who score the most points. As usual the judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. But the good new is that everyone that plays will be eligible to win these prizes:-
- A free copy of Domino Designer - kindly provided by IBM
- A lifetime membership at IdeaJam, allowing you to influence the design of the Lotus Notes product by contributing ideas on how it can be improved, adding comments to other ideas, and/or voting on the ideas you like.
- A lifetime membership at OpenNTF, where you can download hundred of free OpenSource Notes applications and code samples. For the duration of your membership you will also have the chance to contribute your own code and/or join others to work on existing projects.
- A lifetime membership at Planet Lotus, allowing you to read on a daily basis the latest information from 352 Lotus bloggers . Your membership also entitles you to create your own blog site to join in the action.
- A lifetime subscription to bleedyellow.com also allowing you to create your own blog site. Membership also allows you to join the YellowBleeders Sametime group, connecting you with many of the great minds in the Lotus community.
- A lifetime membership at LotusUserGroup.org which will allow you to join discussion forums with fellow members, participate in virtual LUG sessions and find out the latest information and news from LUGs around the yellowsphere.
- Unlimited access to Notes.Net (aka IBM developerWorks). Amongst the many privileges of this membership is the ability to receive free technical support via various Discussion forums, read and contribute to a number of Lotus product wikis, and read a wide range of technical articles about Lotus products.
- And if the above is not enough, by reaching out and meeting these (and many other Lotusphere attendees) you will have had the chance to learn a whole lot more about Lotus products over and above that covered in official presentations. And the chances are good you may have established a few connections that will prove useful well after you have left Lotusphere.
.
So print off your card and get ready to play. While your at it, print a few extras to bring for those that arrive without their own card!!! The event of the year is now only two weeks away!!!!!

While free beer (or tequila) is always welcome at Lotusphere, if anyone asks for my autograph, I'm coming to LA to kick your ass. :-P
Mickey doesn't drink beer in public, although he has been seen with a small flask when waiting for Minnie to finish up in the ladies bathroon.
Late Rule Change: 50 points for a Nathan T Freeman autograph :)
When will the Lotusphere Spotto iPhone app be available? ;-)
