For YellowBleeders behind a firewall

Chris Whisonant

For those of you who have had trouble accessing the im.bleedyellow.com Sametime community from behind your company's firewall, we have just opened access to the community from port 80 - port. Chat away!! :) You can still use 1533 if you haven't had problems with that.

By the way, if for some reason you need to access the web server, you'll need to go to http://im.bleedyellow.com:8088

1 Chris Whisonant      Permalink @David, we're working on more official channels for site information through a wiki.

You can use im.bleedyellow.com at port 80 or 1533. Then login with your email address. Thanks!

2 David Killingsworth      Permalink Hi,

I wanted to ask where documentation to the IM information is located.

I met Stephan Wissel at the Lotusphere comes to you seminar yesterday in Hong Kong and he told me that there was a Sametime community here at BleedYellow.

I had already registered as a member of BleedYellow previously, but had no idea that I could collaborate via Sametime IM.

Perhaps this should be indicated somewhere that login is possible.

I don't have a good suggestion of where it could be added.

Also, I wanted to contact the administrators to ask what the sametime community URL name was, but didn't find a way to contact anyone, or a contact form until I found this blog post.

just some constructive connections feeback.

3 Chris Whisonant      Permalink @Connie. That may be a firewall issue. I cannot login to the extst.ibm.com community either. I have my im.bleedyellow.com community just using the Direct Connect with HTTP. You're not behind a proxy are you?

4 Corinne Bartow      Permalink I have no trouble using demonet (stdemo3.dfw.ibm.com) but consistently can not log in to either im.bleedyellow.com or extst.ibm.com. I have all set to use port 80 and in the Connection tab I have selected to use my Internet Explorer HTTP settings. I get the server temporarily unavailable message.

Do you know if this could be a firewall issue on our end?

Thanks,
Corinne Bartow
