Some Hotfixes to Be Aware Of

Chris Whisonant

First of all, there is an 8.0.1 DWA hotfix available. If you or your customers are experiencing some issues with DWA 8.0.1, you will want to open a PMR with IBM Support in order to see if this hotfix addresses your problems. One of the major problems we found is the caching of attachments with the same name in IE. If you receive two attachments with the same name from different senders, the first one you open is cached until you logout. But there are some other fixes in the hotfix.

Secondly, there is a HF6 available for Quickr 8.1.

1 Roland Reddekop      Permalink Hi Chris,
I believe you're an "i" platform expert. Have you ever run Domino 7 and 8 concurrently on the same LPAR? I upgraded my QuickPlace Server to 8.0.1 so I could run Quickr 8.1, but HTTP won't load. An error message on the console is complaining that Java 5 is a prereq...sure enough I missed that in the release notes. However I have 3 other Domino 7 servers on the same box so don't want to break them by "upping" the Java version 5. IBM says it might work to go to 5 for both version...could be some issues. Have you seen this configuration working in production? Anyone else?

3 Chris Whisonant      Permalink The HF# is 8.01_211.021.

4 Chris Mobley      Permalink Also, when I got the hotfix for this the tech told me to set "Use UTF-8 for Output" to Yes in the server doc under the Internet Protocols - Domino Web Engine tab, and then in the "Character Set' section.

I wasn't too clear why this mattered, but it definitely dealt with DWA attachment filename issues.

5 Chris Mobley      Permalink I ran into this same issue with DWA 7.0.3 back in March. They sent me DWA Hotfix 280.111 for 7.0.3 which fixed the problem. I'm guessing this was after 8.0.1 went gold, so there is a hotfix for 8.0.1 for the same thing.

Do you have the DWA hotfix number for 8.0.1?
