As I was troubleshooting a user issue yesterday, I crashed my application server. The original issue was that the user was getting internal server error when opening a JPG attachment in a document in the discussion db. This problem is documented in:
spr PHAN7QPARZ- Opening an attachment from a file download control fails when that app is in a sub-folder off data discusses a download issue when xpage is in sub-directory resulting in similar 500 errors

Now, onto how to crash the domino server:

-create a document in the discussion db
- type in text for subject and body
- add a MS-Word attachment and let the browser upload it
- once uploaded, click on the link for the attachment
- the attachment will show as garbage on screen
- hit back in browser, it will complain about "page expired"
- press F5
- click Save

and your server will crash (on AIX anyways)

Looks like I'll be spending some time with IBM today!
