What are your expectations with Sametime 8.5

Lotusphere had many teasers about the improved webconferencing in Sametime, but did not provide much information beside that.

What are your expectations for 8.5?

Mine are:
  • Looking forward to the updated web 2.0 web client. Had the chance to review it in the usability lab at lotusphere and really liked it.
  • Since 8.5 seems to be moving to Websphere, I'd really like to see the Standard and Advanced codestreams to be merged into 1 product. There are some tools in the advanced that I really like, but I'm not willing to spend the 30% licensing delta.
  • I would like to see a sticky announcement. Currently, when you send an announcement out...they will disappear after a few seconds. I would like to force end users to acknowledge the announcements (ie avoid a user missing an announcement when they go to the bathroom)

8.5 is a move more towards missing expanded meeting services that Sametime has needed. While I wish it was native to Domino or at least optional, it is what the chose. They have a long way to go moving the other Sametime capabilities to pure Websphere to get a single install. remember Workplace instant messaging? lacked tons of capabilities and I hope they don't start there.
