1 David N Schaffer Permalink Well, retrieving mail at 28.8 kbps is getting a bit unworkable, but it's been nice to have the modem as a back door into the server when the Internet service goes down.
Are they going to finally kill the NetBIOS connections as
well?
I once could monitor the modem handshake from the next room just by
the tones. Probably a good skill to forget!

Welcome to the blogging world.
I have to admit, your blog title name is better than my blog
name.
-Devin.
3 David Brown Permalink @ David : If we are lucky they'll at least make it so that a fresh Domino install doesn't create a NetBios port by default just because it thinks it should.
4 David Brown Permalink @ Devin : Aw shucks. Thanks for the compliment. That name for a blog or website has been rattling around in my head for quite a while. Since blogging is a new adventure for me, I'll take all the encouragement I can get. :)
