Lotus Connections Blogs - Demo Transcript

A blog is an online journal where you can record or share postings about topics of interest to you. Other people can subscribe to your blog to receive updates when you add new content. Readers can also comment on your postings.

About this task
This demo shows you how to:
  1. The blogs home shows a list of the latest blog entries (sorted by newest first) and an announcements panel.
  2. In the tabs navigation (near top of page) you will find Browse Blogs, My Blog and My Updates.
    • Browse Blogs brings you to the blogs home page and shows the most recent blog entries.
    • My Blog shows your blog, or a list of your blogs if you have more than one.
    • My Updates is a list of entries you have recently posted or commented on. You will also find Recent Notifications Sent and Received under My Updates.
  3. In the blogs navigation panel (on the left side) you will find links to Latest Blog Entries, All Blogs and My Recommendations.
    • Latest Blog Entries is the Blogs home page, and lists the most recent blog entries.
    • Public Blogs lists all of the blogs rather than individual blog entries.
    • My Recommendations is a list of entries you have recommended. You may also use this as a list of your favorite entries.

  8. We suggest you use tags (keywords) when posting entries, as this will help people to find your entries when searching.
  9. When you Post to blog, the new entry is listed on the Blogs home (latest blog entries) and stored in your blog.
  10. A colored icon means this blog entry has been recommended by someone. The number beside the icon shows how many people have recommended the entry. A gray icon means this blog entry has no recommendations.
