I have a requirement that needs an elegant solution. IBM has provided me with a clunky workaround, but I want something slicker. We receive emails into our Notes domain using 12 different domain names. Most are legacy, but two are primary (let's call them @abc.com and @def.com).
I imagine a mail template modification that would sense what email domain was used to receive the email, and any replies would automatically pick the proper domain name to use for the sender address. Additionally, new emails would have a option to choose which domain to use for the sender address.
Has anyone done anything like this? If not, how much effort do you think this would take to pull off?
IBM's clunky workaround is a start. It involves setting up different location docs where the "Internet Mail Address" field is fixed to the desired domain. Since this field automatically updates itself from the person doc in the NAB you need to set a do-not-update flag on the location doc using Actions - Advanced - Set Update Flag while in edit mode on the location doc. The reason this solution is clunky is because the user has to observe what domain the email was sent to, then switch location docs before replying.
