Struggling with the Calendar View Style

Chris Mobley  |    |  Tags:  view_styles calendar  |  Comments (3)
OK, remember,  I'm not a designer.    Over the years I've gotten pretty good at hacking together basic apps, and stealing lotusscript to do the things I need it to do.  However, sometimes I'm really stumped by Notes design structures.

For example.  I have an old, simple vacation database for a department to post their vacations.  The db uses a Calendar View Style.  I would love to update this view style to look like the Notes 8 mail calendar that I have in my personal calendar.  The headers are much spiffier.

But when I go surfing the design elements I don't see the Calendar View Style in there.  So where is it?  Is it part of the ODS?  Am I overlooking it?  Is it part of that "secret world" of a Notes database?   I will guess that the answer is either "There is no way to get to that." or "Here is a link that explains that."   Hopefully it is the latter.

It's curious how you run into dark corners of Notes/Domino from time to time.   Those places that never seem to be fully explained.

1 Dan P King      Permalink It's just in the view lists - if you look at the properties once you're in a view you'll see the Style option. It's either Standard Outline or Calendar (in ND7 anyway)

The Notes 8 calendar style is actually a composite application. There isn't a lot of doc on it. Here are some links you may find helpful.
